Save the date: online webinar on PHS employers' capacity-building

As part of the PHSDialogue EU-funded project, employers' organisations in Personal and Household Services (PHS) – EFFE & EFSI - will host an Online webinar on “Organising PHS employers - Identifying capacity-building needs” on the 14th of October 2024.

This webinar is a key event under the PHSDialogue EU funded Project, which aims to lay the groundwork for EU Sectoral Social Dialogue and strengthen collective bargaining capacities at the national level within the personal and household services (PHS) sector. The sector is vital for providing high-quality, reliable, and efficient domestic and home care services across the EU, and this event focuses on the capacity-building needs of employers' and business organizations within it.

Objectives:

The webinar seeks to:

Explore the most effective ways to enhance the capacity of Employers’ and Businesses’ Organisations at the national level and within EU-level social dialogue.
Identify the specific capacity-building needs of PHS sector employers and business organizations at the national level.
Contribute to the development of a capacity-building toolkit tailored to these organizations.

Agenda:

1- State of Play of PHS Employers and Business Organisations: Interim Findings of the PHSDialogue Project (14h10 – 14h30)

This session will present the interim findings of the PHSDialogue project, including the results of a survey conducted among participants and the outcomes of a mapping exercise. It will provide a current snapshot of PHS employers and business organizations across the EU.

2- PHS Employers’ Organisation Structuration and Dynamics: Lessons Learnt and Main Takeaways (14h30 – 15h30)

Drawing from existing academic research, this session will delve into the structure of PHS employers' organizations and explore the initiatives undertaken to strengthen their capacity. Participants will gain insights into the dynamics of these organizations and the challenges they face.

3- Assessing the Gaps, Needs, and Challenges Faced by PHS Employers’ Organisations (15h45 – 16h30)

In this interactive session, participants will discuss the gaps, needs, and challenges identified during the drafting of the capacity-building toolkit by EFFE and EFSI. Attendees will be invited to express their interest in specific tools and share their own experiences to further refine the toolkit.

This webinar is designed for representatives of employers’ and business organizations within the PHS sector, PHS providers or users willing to organise themselves, and stakeholders involved in national social dialogue and collective bargaining.
