France : towards a collective bargaining agreement for personal services' firms

On the 23rd of January, the trade unions employers (FEDESAP and FESP) and employees (CFTC and CFE-CGC) representatives of personal services sector agreed on a national collective bargaining agreement.

After years of negotiations, the employers and employees trade unions representatives agreed on a text. The collective bargaining agreement sets up the contractual relationship, the profesional status and the social protection system. It defines the employment policy and careers developements and organizes the different jobs identified in the sector into a hierarchy with a corresponding wages scale.

The agreement should come into force by the end of 2013 but the opposition of some employees representatives puts into question its implementation.
