Personal and household services at the forefront !
A European Conference on personal and household services will be held in Brussels on the 30th and 31th of January.
On the 30th and 31th January 2013, the European Commission will hold in Brussels a conference on the job creation potential of personal and household services.
Gathering hundreds of stakeholders, this conference will be the occasion to discuss important issues such as the increasing demand for personal and household services, the role of the State in subsidizing these services or the sector’s working conditions. Furthermore, the European Commission will present the results of the public consultation which ended in July 2012.
In the framework of this Conference, the European Federation for Services to Individuals (EFSI) will publish the report “Why invest in employment ? A study on the cost of unemployment” by Idea Consult. This report reveals the cost of an unemployed person related to the benefit of an active person in six EU Member States (Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom). The main conclusions and recommendations of the report will be presented during a press conference to be held on the 30th of January at 13:30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Brussels.
