Reconciling Work and Family Life

The COFACE (Confederation of family organisation in the European Union) launched a campaign to designate 2014 as the European Year for reconciling work and family life.

The current changes in family structures (such as ageing, higher proportion of women in the labour market etc.) result in greater difficulties for families to cope with everyday life tasks. That is why EFSI joined the European Year 2014 Alliance. EFSI believes that more policies that enable the reconciliation of work and family would be a win-win situation – both for individual EU citizens, as well as for the European Union as a whole.

MEP Marian Harkin initiated a Written Declaration Nr. 32 asking for the designation of 2014 as the European Year for Reconciling Work and Family Life with the support of COFACE and the European Year 2014 Alliance.
