France : signature of the first collective bargaining agreement for personal and household services’ firms

On the 20th of September 2012, the trade unions employers (FEDESAP and FESP) and employees (CFTC, CFE-CGT et CFDT) representatives of the personal and household services (PHS) sector signed the national collective bargaining agreement of PHS’ firms.

After years of joint negotiations and an agreement on a preliminary text last January, the employers and employees trade unions representatives signed the first collective bargaining agreement for PHS’ firms. The new collective agreement puts more particularly the emphasis on professionalization (lifelong learning, mentoring, reassure career path, etc.). Furthermore, it organizes employees’ welfare cover notably thanks to the creation of a compulsory social coverage.
